This awesome neon heart cookie recipe is from Shauna at Ella and Annie Magazine. These shortbread cookies are the perfect treat for Valentine’s Day, birthday parties, or any occasion you want to do something bright.
I love how bold and fun these cookies are. They would add serious pizzaz to any dessert table and they're super easy to make! ***And the SECRET to making them the perfect heart shapes is to make sure the dough is VERY VERY COLD!!***
When I see a new trend showing up on our site, especially one that's so beautiful, I have to share it right away. So here's my first trend spotting for 2015. Introducing... decorated stacked cookies. Aren't they gorgeous?!
Most of the ones we're seeing are simple sugar cookies or shortbread cookies, and sandwiched between them is pretty frosting. Plus there seems to be a definite flower theme, lots of piped rosettes and added gumpaste flowers. And don't forget the sparkle. To really make these decorated stacked cookies stand out, we're seeing glittered detail on the edges of the cookies, or completely covering the cookies.

We based this on the famous recipe found in Christina Tosi's Momofuku Milk Bar cookbook, but we made some tweaks to ours that we think make them a little easier to make, and give you a little thicker and chewier cookie.

I'm so happy to introduce our new baking contributors from across the pond, Rebecca and Rosie, from Honeywell Bakes! I just love having a little British flair on our site. For their first recipe, Rebecca and Rosie are sharing these beautiful jammy dodgers (shortbread cookies filled with jam). Wouldn't they be yummy to serve at Christmas?
I know, French macarons. We've all heard the horror stories of how hard they are to make. But they are also absolutely gorgeous, look great on a dessert table, and where I come from, cost about $3.50 per macaron. So maybe I need to rethink my fear of trying. :)
To help me, I asked macaron expert and professional baker, Chris Roberson of Frostine Bakery. She makes hundreds of macarons, so if anyone knows how to do it, she does. She's shared not only her recipe but her trade secrets. Thank you, Chris, our lips are sealed (except for the fact that I'm posting it)!
