Halloween Candy Chandelier DIY

Halloween candy is so fun to use as decoration. Look what I made today to hang over my Halloween buffet table... a candy pumpkin chandelier. It was so easy to make and looks so cool hanging in my dining room (although my daughter keeps trying to steal the pumpkins)!

  • Foam ring (6 inch diameter)
  • Candy pumpkins (I used  30)
  • 28 gauge wire
  • Needle
  • Black tulle cut into 2 inch strips.
  • Black ribbon

Cut 6 pieces of wire into 18-24 inches long strands. I like to vary the length of the strands.

Using a needle, poke holes into each of the candy pumpkins from top to bottom.

Tie a knot at the end of one of the pieces of wire.

Thread a candy pumpkin onto the wire.

Tie another knot in the wire about 3 inches above the first pumpkin.

Thread another candy pumpkin.

Repeat until you added 5 pumpkins to the strand. Repeat until you have 6 strands.

Tie the wires onto the foam ring.

Wrap the ring with strips of tulle until completely covered. Attach with pins or Glue Dots.

Tie ribbons onto the ring to hang.

If you've made any candy decorations for Halloween, I'd love to see them. Please email me a photo at jillian(at)catchmyparty(dot)com.

4 Favorite Parties of the Week - Oct. 20th

Here's what I'm showing off this week as my favorite parties added to our site... A gorgeous Wonder Woman dessert table that takes me back to my childhood, an All Hallow's Eve tea party that feels like you've stepped out of Victorian era England, a mermaid birthday on the beach where you can almost feel the mist, and a woodland vintage 3rd birthday with great shabby chic touches.

See you this week!!

A Halloween Love Story

When Lainey was a baby, getting through that first year seemed like an eternity, but now that she's six, time feels like it's zipping by. That's why I'm always trying to find ways for us to spend time together -- just us, having fun, making memories.

So when Target asked me to take a little shopping trip to their store, buy some fun Halloween costumes and decor, and blog about it, I knew this was the perfect project for Lainey and me to do together. And btw, anything involving Catch My Party and Target... Lainey is all over!

So off we went to Target. I told her she could take the lead, and did she ever. She had to try on everything...

...and touch and hold everything...

...And we both had a blast!!

While we were shopping, we came up with the idea that we would decorate our house, make cupcakes, and invite her best friend over for a little early Halloween fun.

So once we got home, we got right to crafting. The Target crafts were the perfect level for her. She could do them virtually all by herself.

Lainey had to make the display just right...

Some details... We both loved the spiderweb tablecloth we found, and it was the perfect deocr to set the stage for our party.

More cute crafts made by Lainey.

The wall decorations were fun to place and so easy to stick.

And our cupcakes turned out looking fabulous! (Mix, frosting, and pumpkin toppers all bought at Target.)

Then, before her best friend showed up, it was time for the best part... to get into costume!

She loved every minute of it! (And so did I!)

Thank you, Target, for the gift card to help us make Halloween that much more festive and fun. But really, thank you for letting us create these memories. These won't be forgotten and they are priceless!

Oh, and here's Gertie wearing the hula girl costume Lainey picked out for her. Not sure it works with all of Gertie's hair, but Gertie seemed to like it and so did Lainey.

Expect More. Pay Less.
