It’s fall! Oh how I love fall... the crisp air, the warm bonfires, the jeans and sweaters! I think fall might be the EASIEST season to style a party on a budget! There are so many outside elements that can be used for hosting the perfect fall gathering and most cost pennies!
Easy Fall Centerpiece: Clip a few branches from a crab apple tree to use in your centerpiece or use a different leave you have in your yard.
Displaying them into a tin can with a cute burlap scrap bow on it is a perfect centerpiece for your fall or harvest gathering. Cost is pennies! (Cute Harvest printable was from Living Locurto last year.)
Bonus Tip: Another easy tip using your empty soup cans – cover them with a scrap piece of seasonal themed paper and use for a utensil holder!
Easy Elegant Harvest Wreath: Wreaths are a MUST for fall and winter. But changing them with each season, holiday, or event, can be expensive! Looking for an inexpensive harvest wreath than can take you from late September until early December. This wreath I made would be PERFECT for your displaying! I used a Styrofoam wreath, some moss (hot glued to the wreath) and a pumpkin pick tied with a burlap scrap bow. The cost was $3 and you can use it for months (and years to come).
Bonus Tip: I spray the wreath with hairspray before wrapping in tissue paper before storing it away – helps keep it together!
Keeping the Food Simple! Add a fun Pumpkin Cupcake to your party - made from 1 box of yellow cake mix and 1 can of pumpkin – mix and bake! That gets no easier or cheaper! EASY PEESEY! Top with your favorite cream cheese frosting – you have a wonderful (low cal) dessert for all to enjoy!
Decorate With Candy and Candles: We can all find a bag of candy corn at a dollar store or drug store (as long as you don’t eat it first) you can made a cute decoration for the table!
Add in a scented candle – very colorful and cute party décor!
Easy Seating: Throw a few hay bales down, old apple buckets turned over – or even some stumped logs – and you have the perfect fall themed seating for your guests!
I am looking forward to the fall and hope you are inspired to throw a fall or harvest gathering for your friends and family! Until next month... Party on friends!

Who doesn't love Pinterest? And who doesn't pin crafts they'll probably never make? Well, here's a way to fix that!
So how do you throw a Pinterest party? Read on...
You and your friends create a group craft board on Pinterest, like these below, where everyone adds pins of crafts they'd like to make.
You can do this part one of two ways...
OPTION 1 -- The host picks one or two simple crafts off of the group board and purchases the supplies so everyone can make them during the party.
OPTION 2 -- Each guest picks a craft off of the board she'd like to make, and brings enough supplies for 4 guests, including herself. Names are pulled out of a hat to decide which craft goes with which guest. By the end of the evening, every guest gets to make 4 crafts. **Remind your guests that the crafts they choose should not take more than a half hour to complete, or you'll be there all night. :)
If the host is providing the craft supplies, I recommend each guest bring a bag filled with craft supplies and instructions for one craft. These bags are exchanged at the end of the night so everyone goes home with a new craft. Or if the host isn't providing the craft supplies for the party, I recommend the host pick a simple craft, buy supplies and wrap them up with instructions to send home with each guest .
MY NEWEST CRAFT RECOMMENDATION
Here's a simple craft I found on Pinterest (that I've just started), and that would make a perfect Pinterest party craft.
Using a Pebeo Porcelaine pen (they come in a bunch of colors), draw on a ceramic mug or plate with any design or text you'd like. Then bake for 30 minutes in a 300 degree oven, let cool, and the marker becomes permanent, even dishwasher safe.
If you throw a Pinterest party, please add it to our site. I'd love to show it off!

And what else is in my fridge? Butter, a must! Yogurt (especially Greek), another must!
I wanted to share something I made that's delicious and simple, using what was in my fridge. I decided to grill up some peaches and top them with Greek yogurt. We recently moved and our grill still isn't set up, so I made these using a skillet.
I added vanilla and lemon zest to the yogurt and topped the whole thing with honey. The whole thing turned out sweet and tangy, with a carmelized outside and soft fleshy inside. The best way to describe it... it tastes like summer.
GRILLED PEACHES WITH YOGURT
(Makes 4 servings)
- 2 ripe peaches
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup Greek yogurt (I used 2% fat)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest + extra for garnish
- 1 tablespoon honey
Cut the peaches in half and remove the pits. Melt just enough butter to a coat your skillet over medium low heat. Add the peaches, face down, for about 4-5 minutes. Check periodically, and flip them over when they are nicely caramelized. The more ripe the are, the faster they will brown. Turn the heat down to low and cook for another 5 minutes, or until they soften. You can test with a toothpick. Set them aside and let them cool for a couple minutes while you make the filling.
For the topping, just mix the vanilla and lemon zest into 1 cup of Greek yogurt.
Top the peaches with a spoonful of yogurt. Drizzle on some honey and add a pinch of lemon zest to garnish.
LG just designed a new super-capacity 3 door French door refridgerator with Door-in-Door, which has an exclusive space for your go-to foods. They're doing a contest on Facebook where you can vote for your favorite go-to fridge foods (yogurt, juiceboxes, mustard, or diet soda) to place in the Door-In-Door. It's fun, so you should check it out here!
For those quick trips to the fridge, the Door-in-Door is a magnetically sealed section of the refrigerator that allows you to access the door bin without opening the entire refrigerator. Due to the Door-In-Door feature, less cool air escapes when the easy access compartment is opened, keeping cold air in the rest of the fridge, where it matters most. Whether it's a refreshing drink, condiments or a healthy snack, the Door-in-Door is the ideal space for quick access to your family's go-to foods such as canned or bottled drinks, salad dressings and condiments. Mary Beth!! Congrats you were the 73rd person to like Just Sugar Coat It! on Facebook and won a $75 gift certificate to their store. Happy baking!!
My daughter is starting kindergarten next week and I'm very excited for her, but it does make me feel like time is going by so quickly. She was just a baby in my arms, and now she's a big kindergartener!
I'm so happy that Wanessa from WCC Designs created these "first day of school" printables for us. I plan to take a picture of Lainey holding one of these signs every first day of school from now until high school (we'll see if she lets me), so I can remember each year more vividly.
Hope these help you collect sweet memories of your kids, too!
I will of course be showing off my daughter holding her sign proudly on Thursday. If you'd like to email me photos of your kids holding their signs, I'll happily post them. Email me at jillian(at)catchmyparty(dot)com.
Thank you Wanessa, for another great printable set!!
