Today we’re sharing some fun cookie exchange party ideas from Laura Aguirre from Laura’s Little Party!

‘Tis the season for holiday gatherings! I especially love this time of year when we get together with friends, and houses are filled with the yummy aroma of sweet baking. If you’re looking to plan a get-together with friends, I highly recommend putting together a cookie exchange party!

To put this one together, I used the “Cookies and Cocoa” free printables from Catch My Party. The set has everything you’ll need to throw an awesome party, including editable invitations and tented cards so you can personalize them any way you’d like, plus a welcome sign, a hot cocoa bar sign, water bottle labels, printed paper, cupcake toppers, straw flags, banners, and more.

Here I’m sharing how I put together a small spread, along with sharing a few tips on how to throw your own cookies & cocoa party!

Step 1: Bake a few batches of your favorite cookies and ask your guests to bring a batch of their own. That way there will lots of cookies to exchange at the party. Again, you can use the printable tented cards to make signs for the different types of cookies. There are also recipe cards in the printables collection in case people want to share recipe.

Step 2: Make sure to serve some delicious hot cocoa! I pre-made some cocoa, and displayed them in bottles, but feel free to use thermoses. I added some printables, and set out straws, and little cups of marshmallows.

Step 3: Because you’ll have lots of cookies, you might want to serve something else for your guests to nibble on. Cupcakes are always an easy alternative. You can make store treats look festive by adding coordinating cupcake toppers.

Step 4: Make sure to have lots of take-home boxes or containers set out for your guests. With all the cookies & treats you’ll be collecting, your guests will need a place to store them. I found some small boxes, and set out some baker’s twine, paper inserts {for the treats}, and tags for the guests to personalize their goody-filled boxes.

Did you see the darling gingerbread man cookies?! Desi from [desi]gn cakes & cupcakes made the most delicious cookies! And they were so darling. She did a great job on our cookies, and I couldn’t thank her enough!
