Just in time for Valentine's Day, I made these pink marshmallow popcorn balls and my daughter went nuts! She told me they were the best dessert I'd ever made. :)

These took ten minutes to make... seriously, and I did it all in the microwave.

If you want a crowd-pleaser this Valentine's Day, especially with the under ten set, I recommend these. They'll be perfect at a school Valentine's Day party (which is where I'm going to serve them).

Supplies:

  • Microwave popcorn
  • Marshmallows
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Pink food coloring
  • Valentine's M&Ms
  • Valentine's Day sprinkles
  • Reese's Peanut Butter Hearts
  • Cooking spray
Directions:

Make 6 cups of plain popcorn in the microwave.

Then follow this official Rice Krispie Treat recipe  but before melting the butter in the microwave, add a few drops of pink food coloring and a few more pinches of salt.  It should turn a beautiful shade of pink.

Next combine popcorn and pink melted marshmallows.

Next spray cooking spray on your hands and form into marshmallow balls.

Place in paper baking cups so they are easily portable.

Place M&Ms and candy hearts on the balls. (I found that it looked much better if I added them to  the outside of the balls instead of mixing them in with the melted marshmallows.

Finish them off with a Reese's Peanut Butter Heart or any other heart candy. And voila!
