Fireman Birthday Party and More!

by Jillian Leslie on

Fireman birthday party, a pirate party, a strawberry party, and an airplane party! |

Happy May! It's cold here in Palo Alto, weird I know, especially with school getting out in two weeks. I'm in a heavy sweater as I write this.

My four favorite parties this week are awesome. They include a fun fireman birthday party with cute puppy party favors, an airshow themed party for a boy who loves planes, a super sweet strawberry girl birthday party, and a swashbuckling Jake and the Neverland Pirates party! Browse through these, they'll make you happy.

Strawberry Lemon Jello Filling Surprise Cupcake Recipe |

We were asked by Kraft to add our spin to one of their spring dessert recipes. So here's our take on their Luscious Lemon Poke Cake. Instead of "poking" the cake with holes to get the Jell-O flavor inside, we decided to create a cupcake with an actual Jell-O filling surprise inside! I can't wait to serve these to guests to see their reaction!

{RECIPE} Strawberry Ginger Lemonade + Fun Summer Shopping Ideas

by Jillian Leslie on

Summer is right around the corner. In fact it's been so warm here, it already feels like summer.

As I've written in my blog before, we have a ginormous lemon tree in our backyard, so lemons are one of my favorite ingredients. I've already shared my lemon cake recipe and my lemon sugar cookie recipe, so of course I had to share my sparkling strawberry ginger lemonade recipe. This lemonade is refreshing and sweet. It's got a little spice from the ginger and earthiness from the lemongrass, perfect for a hot day!

{RECIPE} Spicy Garlic Kale Chips

by Jillian Leslie on

I was asked by Naked Juice to share how our family stays healthy and eat lots of fruits and vegetables.

As I've mentioned a lot in my blog posts, I am a huge fan of the farmer's market, so I tend to buy a lot of our family's fruits and vegetables there. While my husband, David, and I eat a ton of vegetables, I must admit my daughter is not always a fan. :( One solution I've come up with is to buy her smoothies. That way, when she refuses to eat anything fresh and green, I know real nutrition is still getting into her body.
