Party Recap

Cullen's love for anything space-related inspired an out-of-this world birthday party. We had a "blast" celebrating our astronaut's big day!

My husband and I made most of what you see which made the party even more special to us. And of course we had help from our little ones.

Sure! I bought the plastic bottles to dispense the sand at Hobby Lobby (Walmart sells similar ones), the sand and sand art bottles at coloredsand.com, the cast iron skillet at Walmart, and I made the sign and color labels. The kids loved it!! I would suggest having a few adults helping. You let the kids fill with layers os colored sand and when it's almost full take the sand art bottle and move it around on the cast iron skillet with a little sand in it (purpose of this is to build friction which compacts the sand). Then fill with sand again then repeat the cast skillet compacting again. You may need to top it off just a tad more before putting the cork on the bottle to complete it. Have fun!
