Party Recap

My daughter Laura is the "luckiest girl in the world". Or so she keeps telling me, after her 11th birthday party, held on Sunday the 14th of November, 2010.

She is mildly obsessed with Alice in Wonderland (in every incarnation - animated and Tim Burton alike), so we decided to put on a small tea-party for her and a small group of close friends. You can bet that it was the talk of the class the next day!

This event can also be found on our blog:

I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed creating the event!

Party Highlights

  • Best Dressed

The birthday girl of course! (With special mention going to the three characters of course!)

  • Desserts

Red and blue Alice in Wonderland themed dessert buffet with cupcakes, cookies, cake pops and candy in jars!

  • Activities / Games

The Red Queen and the Mad Hatter headed up entertainment with such games as Card Toss, Musical Teacups and Croquet.

  • Best Moment

Laura's face. She could not stop smiling the entire time.

  • What People Ate

Ribbon sandwiches, and other assorted nibblies.

  • What People Drank

    Iced tea, & red lemonade.

  • Most Touching Moment

When she wrapped her arms around me and thanked me for the best birthday party ever.

  • Funniest Moment

When the White Rabbit appeared and Laura's friends spotted him. Rather than be amused by this, one shouted "Look! A rabbit! Let's get him!" - they then pursued the poor rabbit (dressed in a long black suit and stifling latex mask) across the backyard - in Australian summer weather. He almost passed out - but saw the funny side!
