Party Highlights
-
Desserts
There were lots of sweets at this party! Frosted sugar cookies in the shape of penguins, mittens, snowmen, and snowflakes were my favorite touch. We also had sugar cookies my aunt made, "snow" angle food cake, "snow dusted" powdered donuts, a candy/dessert bar, mini cupcakes, and an igloo shaped cake.
-
Activities / Games
An inflatable pool with lots of balls was great entertainment, as well as bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and a ballon animal maker.
-
Best Moment
Seeing all of our family and friends enjoy and share such a special day with us.
-
What People Ate
I went with a Hot and Cold Theme since it was a Winter Themed party. We had "Keep Your Piggies Warm" Pigs in A Blanket, Homemade Mac-N-Cheese, "Cold" Cuts, Veggies and Dip, Various Cheeses and Crackers, Yogurt and Applesauce for the kids, and lots of yummy sweets.
-
What People Drank
A Hot Chocolate Bar was the main part of the party! We had lots of toppings such as mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, crushed peppermint, mini peanut butter cups, sprinkles, peppermint stirrers, and whipped cream. For the adults, Peppermint Schnapps and Baileys
-
Most Touching Moment
Seeing my baby boy walking around so independently and playing with the other kids. I realized at that moment he is not a baby anymore.
-
Funniest Moment
I wanted pictures of D digging into his cake but he wanted nothing to do with it! He cried when it came near him!

You did an awesome job! I love all the little touches! I am actually throwing my son's 1st birthday in December and going to use this same decor/design package. I was wondering if you printed everything at home or had a place like Kinko's do it. I will have roughly the same amount of guests as your son's party so was wondering which was a more cost effective route.... professional printing or buying ink cartridges and doing it at home.

Thank you so, so much! This party was so fun to plan! As for the printing, I did it at home which was much more cost effective. I used heavy cardstock and that was easier to cut out and seemed to absorb to color better. I did print the invites at Staples because I needed them a certain size and to be cut. They did all of that there and it was not expensive at all! Let me know if you have any more questions!

Perfect, thanks! I was thinking it would be better to print at home. I wish I had started planning last year so I could hit the after Christmas sales like you did! I can't wait until it gets closer and to start really planning/creating! I will be sure to contact you if I have any questions...or maybe you could just fly out here and throw the party for me :)

I started planning about 2 months prior to the party. I needed a lot of time due to the holidays close to his actually birthday. The sales were a huge money saver but honestly you can do a lot on your own and save, as well. The balloon wreath was so easy and cheap. And I used it for Valentine's Day since it has similar colors. Buy things you can use for decor in your home later and the money will be worth it. I never bought things I couldn't use for future holiday decor or parties! I would LOVE to be a party planner! That is my dream job!
