Party Recap

When I found out my sister was pregnant, the idea of her baby shower immediately came into my mind. Baby shower's are not a tradition in our home country (Portugal), but I now live in Australia and that was something I had to share with her.
A few months later, I came back home to a very pregnant sister and it was the perfect timing for the party! Her only request was an owl theme, to match the decoration of the baby's room.

We opted for a mix of sweets and finger-food, instead of a typical dessert table. We had a beautiful cake designed by Bolos e Bolinhos Atelier, matching the decor. Cupcakes, chocolate croissants, mini vol-au-vents and quiches were all home-made.
I loved the flower shaped fruit skewers on flower pots, for a fun touch!

This party was full of little details. Guests were given a pair of clothes pegs at the door, for the "Don't say baby" game and there was a framed sign explaining the rules of the game.
We asked guests to bring diapers instead of gifts, so we placed a big box at the entrance to put them.

My favourite details would have to be the bird cage we used for the diaper raffle and the striped straws with flags, customised with the baby's name and an owl illustration ♥
