Party Recap

Living in Florida doesn't usually mean actually living on the beach..unless you are REALLY rich. So when my 4 and 7 year old birthday girls said they wanted a surfer girl party I had to figure out a way to bring the beach to us. Being a wedding & party planner by trade, I love to go crazy and get crafty, so I made most of the fun myself, but I did find some fabulous vendors to fill in the gaps.

Here's how I threw Riley and Kate's Backyard Beach Bash without the beach.

40 plus tecno-savvy kids ages 2-14 years old flipped out over retro blow-up pools filled with sand and buckets or with water that ended up with more grass shavings than water, hula hoops, beach balls, beach games, a seahorse pinata and limbo lines. There was even a rest area for sleepy or solitary surfers. One of the biggest hits of the party was the photo booth with crazy beach accessories and a new fangled Polaroid camera!

The kids munched on fish food, Sun Chips, and fruit cups. And what party would not be complete without lots of sugar...we had cupcakes with adorable wave cupcake wrappers, surfboard cookies, and an incredible two-tiered surfer girl cake. The kids also had a chance to nibble on some "beach" themed candy, such as beach balls, kick-boards, fishing poles and fish in the sea.

Each child received a small beach bucket filled with goodies as their party favor.

The party was a blast and my girls loved it all! And everyone is talking about it.
