Party Recap
Sugar Rush Bakery Party
When my little girl asked me for a Sugar Rush party, I think I was more excited than she was. We are huge fans of the spunky little girl, Vanellope, and her video game land, Sugar Rush, in the movie Wreck-It Ralph. The vision for this party was to capture the elements of the Sugar Rush Speedway and the Kart Bakery, as well as the candy characters found in the film.
The dessert table consisted of “You’re My Hero” heart cookies hung from striped candy cane trees. A three tier candy inspired cake was the focal point of the dessert table. Candy corn and candy shaped cake pops served as fans in the stand cheering on the race. Adorable fondant Vanellope race cars topped strawberry shortcake cupcakes. Also on display were bakers’ hats and strawberry milk in farm milk glasses. Ruffled aprons hung in the entryway awaiting the arrival of our guests.
King Candy’s Stand was the centerpiece of the “Kart Creation” station. The chairs were wrapped with fabric and accented with paper rosettes. A cookie place card named after each Sugar Rush racer and a plush doll welcomed each guest as they took their seat. The children made their own race car out of graham crackers and royal icing; then decorated them with sprinkles, candies, and cookies.
