Party Recap

My daughter loves pink and I love red. So this year for Valentine's I decided to go the very
girly route for my desserts table. Love hearts were my inspiration, and 'kiss' designs also featured throughout the table, including the little heart garland on the front of the table, and the cute 'kiss' photo booth props, which I stuck to a paper straw - great idea and craft activity to get the kids involved with!

The desserts table was set up on a white simple table, covered with glittery pink wall paper. This so happens to also be washable and such a practical way to dress the table - No need to hem like with fabrics. it's also pretty economical.

The focus of the deserts table was the homemade cake, that i decorated with red Sixlets from SweetWorks, and some printable heart designs that I glittered as cake toppers.

I simply glued the toppers to paper straws and inserted those into the finished cake.

To counter balance the tall cake, a pink balloon decorated with DIY crepe paper tassles, was displayed on the adjacent side.

The usual sweet treats such as shimmery pink, red and white gumballs, Sixlets and chocolate hearts sat displayed beautifully inside clear pedestal candy jars and printable snack boxes.

Both areas were labelled with printable buffet cards, so guests know to help themselves. I also added some embellished paper goodie bags and cute metal scoop, for to-go candy!

The cupcakes were simple vanilla with cream cheese frosting (my fave!) and sugar heart sprinkles. Instead of the usual topper, I decided on a homemade chocllate heart lollipop for added sweetness. the red of the pop really does pop! :)

The cupcakes were displayed onto cute pink cupcake pedestals from Bird's Party Shop, and adorned with a printable cupcake wrapper to match.

Drinks were served in cute glass milk bottles, and paper straws embellished with glittery hearts and printable flags from the collection.

For added sweetness, the bottles tops were rimmed with sugar sprinkles matching the party colors.

Hershey's kisses were displayed inside a heart-shaped bowl, and those were decorated with printable mini tags, and chocolate mousse served inside ice cream containers. Those looked really sweet with printable labels and a wooden spoon for decor.

Plus, makes more sense this time of year than actual ice cream.

To finish things off, the favors included gumball necklaces presented inside dinky little gift boxes. The satin bows were added to the lid for the final touch of pretty.

We also made glittered hair clips in the shapes of lips and hearts, using the printables. Those were clipped to a card and given out as party favors too, along with some heart-shaped chocolate lollipops, and mini gumball machines filled with colored Sixlets also helped to add the cute factor tot he tabletop. Plus, guests can take them home and re-fill when needed!
