Party Recap
A double birthday party for my two boys - Tyler was turning 3 and Brandon was turning 1. We had lots of food, CANDY, games, racing in cardboard "Cars" cars, and an amazing time!
Party Highlights
-
Best Dressed
My own kids, of course! My boys wore custom shirts from http://www.justsimplysouthern.com/ and my daughter wore a custom bow and "Cars" pillowcase dress from http://sillybugboutique.com/
-
Desserts
I made the cake, and had it centered on the dessert table, along with jars of red and black licorice, oreos, fruit snacks, black and white sixlets, red, yellow, and green M&M's (layered to look like a stoplight), silver and red Hershey kisses, and cherry Lifesavers
-
Activities / Games
Temporary tattoos, placemats they could color, making their own license plates, racing their cardboard cars around the track in our backyard, pinata
-
Best Moment
Watching the kids race around the racetrack in their cardboard cars. They had a BLAST and hearing their laughter made all the hard work pay off!
-
What People Ate
Apple "funny cars", Mack and Cheese, Chick Hicks Chicken Nuggets, Dipsticks (carrot and celery sticks in ranch dressing), Mater's Fried Taters (potato chips)
-
What People Drank
"Antifreeze" which was lemonade dyed blue, and "Motor Oil" which was sweet tea. The kids drank out of construction cone cups with straws that they could take home - I purchased these through http://www.birthdayexpress.com/
-
Most Touching Moment
When my older son tried to help his younger brother (who was not walking yet) "drive" his car.

Could you please tell me where I can get the cake stand and what did you use for the checkered print on the cake. Love the party.
Nichole M wrote:
The cake stand is two cake plates from Michaels and the pillars is a clear plastic pillar set I also got from Michaels. I filled them with red crinkle paper. The checkered print on the outside of the cake is a stiff checkered flag ribbon, stuck on by icing and straight pins.
