Party Recap

Brayden loves Mario Kart on the Wii and thought it would be super fun to do this theme! I have printables from Beth Kruse Custom Creations (www.bethkruse23.etsy.com) for the banner, water bottle labels, cake toppers and stickers used on the french fry boxes and trohpies. I had planned on sewing up all the props for the photo "booth" but ran out of time. Good thing I found some from this etsy shop! www.cre8tesbyrachael.etsy.com I made Brayden's birthday shirt, as well as the cake and most of the rest of the items. The background was from blue wrapping paper and clouds I cut on my Silhouette. Stars are balloons from the dollar store and the King Boo's are paper lanterns I hand drew faces on. I love how it turned out! I especially love his cake!!! Yay!! Also, a shout out to Jessica of Made by Jessica (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Made-by-Jessica/142473549191022) for helping me out with the cookies after our first vendor dropped out!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

grapes, pizza, cheese balls (fireballs!!), popcorn, pirate booty, apple sticks and pretzel sticks

  • What People Drank

    apple juice and water

  • Best Moment

The best part was all the kids trying their best to punch through the cellophane paper on the pinata! Finally, we poked a little hole in it and then it exploded everywhere!

  • Funniest Moment

When my husband went and got all the soccer gear (he is a coach) and they ran to play a game of soccer in the middle of the party!

  • Most Touching Moment

My son giving me the biggest hug and saying "thank you" for making his party so awesome.

  • Best Dressed

The lil man of course! Sporting his "7" Luigi shirt

  • Desserts

    cookies and cake

  • Party Favors

    gold trophy's with Mario fruitsnacks

  • Activities / Games

I made cardboard box "cars" and the kids raced them around the park. I also made a pinata that was shaped like the question mark boxes in the game. Instead of whacking it with a stick, they punched up on it just like Mario does!

  • Budget

The park costs about $75 to rent and I'm pretty sure I kept under $200 for the rest of it!
