Oh pleeease tell me how you got the coating so nice and thin. I have a Dr. Seuss shower this Saturday and I tried the same method of re dipping a cylinder and it just got thick at the bottom and didn't end up looking like a hat :(. Did you start with an exaggerated shape, or is the coating just that thin?
Terri W wrote:
to make your coating thinner add paramount crystals. I also made the cylinder smaller on bottom knowing it would be re-dopped several times. When you stick the stick into the cylinder flatten the bottom and slightly curve it also! Hope that helps!

Thank you! Is that the same as adding shortening or is it better? Your hats are the cutest I've seen, well done!
Terri W wrote:
I am not sure, I haven't ever used shortening before. Thank you and good luck!

how do you make these beautiful cake pops what is used for the hair?
Terri W wrote:
Daurisa, I actually just melted blue chocolate wafers and piped it onto wax paper in that shape, once dry I dipped the cake ball into the red melts and while wet pushed the dry blue hair into the top to adhere it.
