Party Recap

My name is Shana. I'm the cretive designer at Belva June - custom DIY party printables. I designed this collection for a very special "Little Man" in my life - my 2 year old son! At 2 weeks early my little guy was STILL almost 10 pounds and he's been off the charts ever since. My husband and I joke that he was a chest hair away from manhood since birth so a "Little Man" party was a perfect fit for out little/big guy!

Party Highlights

  • Best Dressed

We made sure ALL of our little party guests were dressed for the occasion by giving each of them a shirt with a funky fabric tie glued on it. We hung them from a clothes line and let each guest pick their own. Next to the clothes line I placed a sign that said "Strict Dress code - ties required"

  • Budget

I did a lot of things to cut costs yet still get the effect I was looking for at this party. For example, I made my own cake, cake pops, cupcakes and tissue pom poms. There a great tutorials online these days. You can really learn anything you want! I also made the fabric tie shirts myself. I bought a 5 pack of boys shirts for $4.00 and used fabric scraps from my collection. Lastly, remember those vintage glass milk bottles? Rather than paying $12.00 for two at an antique shop I got creative and purchased three 4 packs of the Starbucks Frappuccinos from the grocery store, dumped out the coffee, peeled off the labels and washed them and what was left was the exact same bottle the antique stores were selling for more than double the price! Being creative can really save some $$$

  • What People Ate

Jake is a chocolate lover like his mommy! We had chocolate mustache suckers, chocolate cake pops and cupcakes and a chocolate candy buffet.

  • What People Drank

We had mini water bottles, a drink dispenser of orange kool-aid but the show stopper was the milk served in the cutest little vintage glass milk bottles. I labeled each bottle with a custom designed labels that said "MILK does a body good" and served it with paper straws. At the drink table there was a sign that said "Grab a Milk Mustache!"
