Party Recap

It was a VERY hot day, too hot to be outside, so we had to improvise and move furniture around so we could squeeze 5 round tables in our kitchen/family room area. There were more adults than kids but everyone had a great time.

Party Highlights

  • Desserts

Cake (white cake with white frosting and strawberry filling), and ice cream (mint chocolate chip, cookies and cream, and neapolitan).

  • Activities / Games

Castle pinata, Big floor castle with figurines, and a craft table (with crowns, wands, castles, and swords to decorate with gems, glitter, and many other craft items). We bought most of the craft items at the Dollar Tree store and wrapped the table in poster paper so they could also draw on the table. It was the most inexpensive and most liked activity.

  • Party Favors

medieval rubber duckies, chocolates, pen swords, blowers, stickers (rings and necklaces for the girls). Most were bought from oriental trading company.

  • Best Moment

watching the birthday boy sing happy birthday to himself and blowing out his candles.

  • What People Ate

meatballs, chili nacho chips, chips & salsa/onion dip, fruit/veggie trays, Chex mix nuts for appetizers. macaroni & cheese, party potatoes, and fried chicken for the main course.

  • What People Drank

Fruit punch, water, and sodas for the kids. Heineken beer and wine coolers for the adults.

  • Funniest Moment

When the adults went into the castle jumper and almost made it collapse. Also adults enjoying the castle centerpieces by having canon fights at the tables.

  • Decorations

Most of the decorations, like the table cloths and such, were bought online at Party City (they had free shipping at the time). The best deal were those plastic goblets. I was going to use a glue gun and put some of the jewels I bought for the craft table on the goblets, but I ran out of time. But I think it would've made the tables look even better (just a thought).
