Party Recap

We held our own carnival for my son's 4th birthday party. Carnivals seem to be a popular theme and for good reason! The kids had an absolute blast. I tried to keep a vintage feel to the party - using a blue and red color scheme. I also tried to use tickets and clown noses throughout the party. It was a great success!

Party Highlights

  • Desserts

Cake, cupcakes, cake pops, sno cones

  • Activities / Games

We had lots of carnival games - ball toss, pick a duck, tin can toss, bean bag toss, and egg races. We also had a bounce house - the highlight of the day until the clowns showed up. The kids LOVED the clowns!

  • Party Favors

The party favors were the prizes from the carnival games - bubbles I found on clearance at the end of the season, crayons purchased at back to school time, army guys for the boys and rings for the girls, animal crackers, chalk, mini-gumball containers and carnival themed Christmas ornaments.

  • Best Moment

The smiles on all the kids faces :)

  • What People Ate

My son's favorite food is nacho chips and salsa and white cheese dip. I thought a "nacho bar" would be a fun way to incorporate his favorites, stick with the carnival theme and be yummy. We also had the traditional carnival food, burgers, hot dogs, etc.

  • Most Touching Moment

When my son looked at me and said, "this is awesome momma."

The lollipops were from Vintage Confections on etsy. The three tiered stand is from Pottery Barn. Thanks!

What an incredible party! You did a fab job! My daughter will be turning 10 next year and we have already decided to do a Vintage Carnival Mustache party. Thanks for all the inspiration!
