Party Recap

My son is really into anything science related, so we decided to have a science themed birthday party! We had lab coats, badges and clipboards for all the kids to give it a more realistic feel. We also did several experiments throughout the party, and at the end of the party, the kids take home some of their experiments.

Party Highlights

  • Best Dressed

All the kids looked fantastic in their lab coats and badges!

  • Desserts

    Chocolate cupcakes and chocolate cake.

  • Activities / Games

Lots of science experiments! We made snow (using a kit from Micheals), volcanoes (that we made explode using baking soda and vinegar), slime, and pudding creations. The last experiment was geysers; by adding Mentos candy to Coke.

  • Party Favors

Test tubes filled with Skittles candy as well as the various experiments (slime and snow) and their lab coats, badges & clipboards.

  • Best Moment

Seeing the looks on the kids faces when the geysers were going off! Priceless!

  • What People Ate

Pretzels & tortilla chips in giant beakers, petri dish jello with gummy worms, beaker shaped pb&j sandwiches.

  • What People Drank

Mini sodas for the kids & water for the adults.

  • Funniest Moment

My son's reaction to his geyser going; he got so excited he stumbled backward & actually fell on the ground! ;o)

    Party Favors

At the last minute, we had a cake situation and I had to have some cupcake picks. I ordered from The Celebration Shoppe the night before the party, and they had them to me the next morning! They went along great with the bottle wrappers I had already ordered!http://www.thecelebrationshoppe.com/
