Party Recap

I fell in love with Riley Blake's "Sugar and Spice" fabric and used the stripe, floral, and polka dot through out the party. We definitely had a budget so most of the elements (including the Bakeshop canopy) were DIY. That said, the space where the party was held is an older space so we did splurge on a pop up tent to create a smaller more intimate space and a prettier backdrop to decorate against. The whole process was a party planning experience!

Party Highlights

  • Best Dressed

    The birthday girl, of course!

  • Desserts

Guests had birthday cake and cookies!

  • Activities / Games

We took advantage of being at a park district (and the perfect weather!) and let the kids play on the playground, we also had some baby toys for the smaller guests to play with indoors, and a face painter.

  • Party Favors

The goodie bags included swirly straws, cookies, cake pops, bottles of bubbles, and handmade friendship bracelets for the girls.

  • What People Ate

We served easy, brunch food- mini quiches, turkey BLT wraps, deviled eggs, fruit salad, yogurt and granola parfaits, zucchini bread, blueberry muffins, and stuffed grape leaves (for my husband's Assyrian family, although all the other guests enjoyed them too!)

  • What People Drank

We served coffee, orange juice, milk, and water.

  • Best Moment

Singing "Happy Birthday" to Greenley. It was such a bittersweet moment and brought tears to my eyes.
