Party Recap

Zoë Reese absolutely LOVES Dora the Explorer and so I knew I wanted to have a Dora theme for her 2nd birthday party. We found a venue that was perfect for kids all ages (Club One Playcare, Silver Creek Sportsplex) and part of their play area looked like a jungle. Since I didn’t want to do just a standard Dora party I thought that was a perfect inspiration for a Dora “JUNGLE” Adventure Party!

The invitation and other paper & stationery goods were created by me, Zuesette Zamora, and my business partner, Marivic Cagatao, owners of a custom-designed invitation company, Marizette Paperie {www.marizette.com}. Including: Candy Jar & Lollipop Labels. Personalized Favor Tags attached to a small jute bag with the Personalized Candy Wrapper, Custom Animal Cracker Label, and Custom Coloring Book with coloring pages featuring Zoë. Paper Cones, Personalized Party Hat, Birthday Banner, Welcome Poster Sign, & Zoë’s 2nd Year line of photos.

Crystal Lequang, from Amazáe Special Events {www.amazae.com} helped me with the event coordination and party décor. She helped in deciding on fabric for the tables (local store: Fabrics R Us), centerpieces (flowers were provided by Nicole Ha Designs, www.nicoleha.com) the arrangement & design of the dessert table, and added input to all the other details of the party (lots of the items were purchased at the Dollar Store and TJ Maxx Home Goods). All very inexpensive!

Zoë’s personal cake was designed by Jen from Jen’s Cakes {www.jenscakes.com}. She did a beautiful job in matching the theme and added a little Dora figurine to it as the final, perfect touch. To save a little on money, we baked & decorated our own cupcakes to give out to the kids instead of the personal cake (Baked by, aunt, Christel Minoc and decorated by aunt, Gail Castrence. We added Dora & Boots plastic rings as toppers that were purchased on { www.amazon.com }. (We saved the personal cake for her actual birthday the following day to eat with family! ) All candy and desserts where purchased from Sweet Factory, and Oriental Trading.com.

Her party outfit was a great find on Etsy! Phyllis from, Lillian’s Closet { http://www.etsy.com/shop/LilliansCloset }, was an absolute joy to work with!! I showed her the invitation of Zoë’s party and she created a the entire outfit to match the theme! It was perfect!! She catered to my EVERY need!!

I then went to Nancy, from Pink Bowtique { www.pink bowtique.com } and as always, she created a custom bow that also fit perfect with the outfit.

And finally, all the amazing photographs were taken by Quincy from Rock the Image Photography { www.rocktheimage.com }. He did an awesome job in capturing all the details of the party as well as Zoë’s 2nd year portraits!

It was so fun putting this party together and the great thing about it is that it can be interchanged to Diego to make it a boys theme (minus the pink, of course!)

    Zuesette Z wrote:

Hello! Thank you for the nice comment... We actually used a simple plastic table top cover for the backdrop. The party was around Easter time and the venue we used had Easter decorations. It actually worked out great because the plastic table top was a little see through, and the paper flowers on the wall gave it a nice effect. Please let me know if you have any other questions! Can these designs be customized? I would love to use your design, but instead of giraffe print I would like zebra print and instead of just having dora at the bottom of the invite having a picture bubble with dora and diego on either side of the picture. Were doing a dora and diego masquerade for my daughters 3rd birthday in september and I just want everything to be perfect, I saw your designs and fell in love with them they are everything I want for her party except its mostly dora and shes definantly a fan of both if not more diego. I hope you can work with me on this, of course I could always do some creative redesign if you cant. Thank you.

Hi Amanda, Cake: I dont have any exact details other than what is shown in the picture. Jen's Cakes from San Jose, CA is the one who created it. Favor Bags: The picture with the personalized coloring book, personalized animal cracker bags, and personalized hershey bars were all included in the favor bag. For do it yourself printables with your child's name on it, you could purchase it at our Etsy Shop for the exact design! http://www.etsy.com/shop/MarizettePaperie Oreos: They were selling the yellow cream filled Oreos at Target around Spring Time. I think they were a special edition for Easter. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

I have another question, the dark brown lunch/dinner plates where did you purchase those? Are they paper or ceramic? Thanks Also, what is the name of the fabric you used on the tables? And where did you purchase the lime green dish the Oreo's are in? Super cute!

  • Amanda K

    Amanda K wrote:

The green in the Oreo's what flavor were they?

  • Zuesette Z

    Zuesette Z wrote:

Hi Amanda, I believe we just purchased those at our local party supply store. They are just paper plates. The fabric we bought at a discounted fabric store so I dont have the name of it. The lime green dishes were purchased at TJ Maxx Home Goods and the oreo's, as previously stated, were a limited edition during spring time. They were just the normal vanilla cream but colored. Hope that helps!
