Party Recap

Ellie's Monster Bash was such a blast to plan! I went with this theme, because we lovingly call our daughter lil "Elliemonster." I have really enjoyed putting all of the monster decor together. Hopefully you will enjoy our lil Monster Bash as much as we did! One reason I wanted to share our party was because I had difficulty finding a girlie monster birthday with decor and ideas I really liked. Hopefully this gives other Mommy Monsters some inspiration. Monster Decor such as: the boa monsters, wooden Monster kid size cutouts, Monster watermelon, monster cake, and monster cookies added the finishing touches to make this party a fun, festive, and Monsterific 1st Birthday Bash!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

Our Menu was simple in the 100 degree heat. LOL! We had Jimmy Johns subs, chips, monster eyes (cheesballs), goldfish (for the kids), pretzel crisps, a watermelon monster full of fruit, monster face cookies, eyeball cake pops, and chocolate and white monster cakes.

  • What People Drank

We had monster punch (Hawaiian punch- Berry Blue Typhoon), Capri Suns (for the kids), Sweet Tea, Soda, & bottles of water. I puts eyeball stickers on each multi-colored plastic cup to add a fun detail to every sip!

  • Party Favors

I got pails from Michaels in a variety of colors, and filled them with candy, monster water bottles, squishy monster balls, a monster craft, monster pencils, and play-doh. We found the cutest one-eyed monster baggies for all the candy.

  • Activities / Games

We had a sweet gal come and paint the kids faces, and make balloon animals. It was fun to see her creative painting. She made the kiddos into some pretty cute monsters! We had a baby pool full of eyeball balloons for the kids. My buddy Clint provided many monster pieces for the kids to make veggie monsters. We put veggies of various shapes and sizes into Ellie's water table. Then the kids could push the eyes and mouths into the veggies to make monster faces. It was a fun activity. We also borrowed our cousins bounce house for some added jumping fun!

  • Best Moment

One of the Best Moments for me was watching Ellie dive into her smash cake. It was so much fun to see her smiling little face. Having family and close friends together is always a blessing!

  • Best Dressed

Ellie wore a cute embroidered shirt and bloomer set from Etsy Shop "LilyBellasBoutique." She wore a gathered tutu from Etsy shop "twinsietutus." Both shop owners did a beautiful job. They were great to work with!

  • Desserts

For dessert we ate monster face cookies, eyeball cake pops, and white and chocolate flavored monster cakes. Who knew monsters could taste so good?!

Nicole they are 2 litter bottles with different colored boas hot glued. I used foam balls to make 3 dimensional eyes and glued large googley eyes to the foam balls. Time consuming but turned out AMAZING. My daughter still loves to play with them! :)

Our little one has had the Nickname "little Monster" from when she was in the womb (before we knew Gender)! The name has Stuck and her Nursery is Monster Theme and everything she owns, lol! Her 1st Birthday is coming up and I thought about maybe not doing Monsters because it's soooo hard to Find GIRL Monster Stuff! But you have sparked my excitement again! Thanks for posting and giving me great ideas!
