Party Recap

I LOVE the invitation Monika designed for the party so I designed our dessert table to look like the invite. I thought the blue polka dota wrapping paper looked like a snowy sky (and I scored it at the Dollar Tree!). I added a variety of “falling” snowflakes (which unfortunately ended up being a little difficult to see) and a string of icicles to give our backdrop a wintery feel. A few white trees I had in my Christmas decorations were the prefect accepn to our winter landscape.
We tried to keep the food mostly white and in the “snow” genre with little pops of red peppermint. We snowman pops, Oreo truffles with candy cane topping, snowflake rice krispie treats with white frosting and sparkly sprinkles, coconut macaroons, gingerbread cookies, and marshmallows. We also served mini powdered donuts, Pirate’s Booty and “Snowda” (red Crush soda).
At the hot cocoa station we served regular hot chocolate and white hot chocolate along with a variety of toppings: caramel, peppermint sticks, homemade marshmallows, chocolate shavings, syrups, and whipped cream.
In keeping with our winter wonderland theme, the children all had the opportunity to make and take home a snow globe.
Our favor was an individual pack of hot cocoa. I just bought a huge container of inexpensive hot cocoa mix, added mini chocolate chips and dehydrated marshmallows and layered everything in a zip-top baggie. Then I cut off the zip-top and tied with some twine.
