A Fairytale Wedding

For as long as I can remember my oldest daughter always said she wanted her wedding gown to be pink. I had asked her why pink? She responded as if utterly disappointed, "Mommy ...don't you know?" God made pink just for princesses. And I'm a Pretty-Pretty Princess so I have to get married in pink!" Lol

So 23 years later my daughter and I planned her princess themed wedding. I made her veil, the invites, programs, cake card box, crystal wedding tree, wedding announcements, individual guest scroll menus and a lot of other little things I can't think of right now. Whew! All I know if I never see a Swarovski crystal and a hot fix gun in my life again I'll certainly be okay! Well here are a few pics. Hope you enjoy!

• Best Moment

  I loved the sound of the horses trotting and the look on our guests' faces as the bride entered into their view. The sun was setting across the courtyard with just a hint of mist from the morning dew. The sweet sultry voice of my neice singing to the melodies of a live jazz band playing Brain McKnight in the background made me think of nothing but love. Then as the white pristine cinderella carraige and its beautiful steed came into full view. I heard the whispers. I saw the tears.I saw the smiles. It made me think to myself. The bride they were seeing was so beautiful in her Pretty Pretty Pink! Yup! They were simply AMAZED!

• Funniest Moment

  Of course the tossing of the bridal bouquet is always a funny moment at any wedding.

• Most Touching Moment

  As the mother of the bride, every moment was emotional for me. There were just too many to count. all i can say is I cried most of the night.

  I fell in love with the Cake Art Studio. It was was the bride's idea to serve the wedding cake for dessert. And she was right! I'm not a fan of fondant. Yet, that was the most scrumptious lemon raspberry cake I every tasted! We also had a coffee/tea station and light hors d'oeuvres served throughtout the reception to ensure our guest were not drinking on an empty stomach.

• Party Favors

  The wedding favors were sterling silver bells engraved with the wedding couple's monogram and wedding date. I added a pop of color by tying a shimmering pink organza bow to the handle. A bell was placed in each of the guests' chair for them to ring in the new bride.

• Activities / Games

  The venue was perfect for our princess theme. It even had a balcony for the bride to throw her bouquet. We had so much fun. Our guests danced, danced then danced some more!

• Budget

  The budget? I don't even wat to talk about it! LOL But we did a lot or should I say I did a lot of DIY projects to cut down on some of the expense.

• What People Ate

  The guests had a chooice of grilled tequila pumpkin pesto chicken (my fav) and a succulent prime rib (the groom's fav). Both we're delicious!

• What People Drank

  Of course we had an open bar throughtout the night. But thanks to our caterter Jerry from Perfect Setting Catering we also served a pink signature drink called "A Blushing Bride". In case you're wondering, It's a delicious light vodka based drink that's perfect for summer weddings.

• A Princess Wedding in Pink

  Wedding theme colors: Pink, Silver & Charcoal. Our guests were asked to wear "White". Yes I said, "White"! Well you get the idea!
