Party Recap

My little girl was turning one. The inspiration for the entire party stemmed from the cozy coupe car I saw on Pinterest and decided to replicate.

Party Highlights

  • Party Favors

I made hats with mouse ears. Some also had red polka dot bows for Minnie. Goody bags had crayons, coloring books, puzzles and bubbles all in a mickey/Minnie theme. For our youngest guests the goody bags contained a mickey bath book some toddler snacks and a sippy cup. We also had mouse ear suckers and red swirl suckers. Each child also got a personalized sticker that read "thanks for sharing my first birthday with me. Love Charlie". Adults were given a 5x7 photo of my little girl. The pictures had a birthday border that said "I'm one" at the top. At the bottom it read " Charlie January 2013". Friends and family were so excited to get this!

  • Activities / Games

I created a photo book at walmart using pictures from throughout this first year. I left a few pages in the back blank for friends and family to write Charlie a message. I also had who does charlie look like game. On a corkboard I posted baby pics of my little girl myself and my husband. Guests voted by placing a push pin under either my picture or my husbands. For the little ones I just brought a huge basket of our toys from home and set them out in a corner of the room. This seemed to work really well.

  • What People Ate

We went with a Mickey Mouse clubhouse theme for the food. We had hot diggity hot dogs, goofys grape salad, oh toodles noodles (pasta salad) mouse munch ( chex mix) mickey ears ( chocolate covered Oreos) mouse Krispy treats and Minnie muffins ( cupcakes).

  • What People Drank

Plutos punch ( fruit punch) and Minnie's cup of tea were served in beverage dispensers topped with mouse ears.

  • Best Moment

While the entire party was a huge success I will say the best investment was hiring a photographer! Since I knew her only job was to take great pics and not miss a moment I was free to chat with guests and enjoy the party. When it came time to so presents and cake I wasn't screaming at my husband to get the camera and pay attention lol. Plus she got all those before shots of the tables, serving area and cake/cupcakes that I'm usually too busy with last minute prep to get.

  • Funniest Moment

Watching her try to delicately eat her cake was too funny!

    Printables

Not only did they do an amazing job on the invites but then created tons of coordinating items for me. Everything from the stickers on the suckers and goody bags, food labels and even water bottle labels matched!! The banners were super cute and now we have coordinating thank you cards to send out as well. They do wonderful work and are great to work with. Can't say enough about this company. http://www.invitingyoudesigns.com
