2nd Birthday Construction

My son's 2nd birthday was a construction theme. We have a long driveway so there were construction signs in the driveway to help set off the theme. I rented a dump truck bounce house as the activity for the kids and we had pizza, cake, and a few dips. I had huge carboard cut out tools hanging from the ceiling and I found miniature orange cones from oriental trading as the centerpieces. I also used construction signs that I printed off the internet and some of my son's dump trucks as the centerpieces. I made rocky road cookies and stuck them in the tailgate of a huge dump truck. The favors were tool belts from Home Depot and I filled the pockets with plastic tools, candy, bubbles, and other goodies and had them sitting in a old galvanized wash tub. I made balloon bouquets of orange, yellow, and black to also put on the tables and place in other areas of the party. At the bounce house entrance there was a table with kid size plastic hard hats. The cake was checkered inside yellow and black and was made to look like the trucks were digging ditches out of it. The party was one of my favorites!
