  • What People Ate

What birthday party is complete without pizza? Not one that I know, so I baked a Lego party pizza easily, and you can too! First bake a frozen cheese pizza as instructed on the back of the box. Once the pizza is baked, cut it into rectangular and square pieces, and added mini pepperoni pieces to mimic the look of a Lego block. Place the pieces back in the oven, while the oven is still warm. I also purchased mini- water bottles, and wrapped them in Lego water bottle labels to continue with the Lego theme. I also made a dessert my grandmother use to sell called “Chilly-Cups.” I’ve heard other people call them “Scrapers,” but either way it’s pretty much just frozen juice in a cup. You can get fancy with it and add seltzer water, fresh lime or pineapple juice, really anything that your child will love; I just made sure the juice was either red, yellow, blue or green, being that was my main color scheme. You could also make something similar with Jell-O. If you’re writing down all the things I purchased, no worries, there is a complete shopping list is included in your Lego party download!

  • What People Drank

I wanted to continue the Lego theme to the beverage containers I already owned, and I saw an adorable picture of how one mom on Pinterest made them look like the Lego man, Emmet’s head, because of their shape. So, I thought to do the same! I used Country Time lemonade to fill the containers. Feel free to use any type of yellow juice like Gatorade or Hi-C Lemonade. I printed and cut out Lego eyes and mouth, which is also in my Lego party download, and taped them on each container.

  • Desserts

You can get a simple round cake from your local grocery store for around $20. I ordered a 4 layer 8 inch vanilla cake from Publix. Each buttercream filling was dyed green, yellow and blue respectively, and I asked for the outside icing to be red all for $21.95. I used a simple Lego bunting cake topper. Once printed, cut each pennant with an exacto knife (you can also use scissors) and tape each pennant to a piece of string or baker’s twine. Tie each end of the string or twine to a straw and use as your cakes topper! Lastly, I placed store bought marshmallows in two apothecary jars I already had. I wrapped a ribbon around each top, and secured them with a round cut-out of green Lego blocks. These are actually suppose to be used as cupcake toppers, but I wanted to continue the Lego theme here as well. I purchased some sugar cookies and cupcakes from Publix. I personally love Publix’s bakery, so I wasn’t pressed to get my Betty Crockett on in the kitchen. For my cupcakes, I asked for buttercream icing with Lego colored sprinkles. On top of each cupcake I added a Lego cupcake topper for more detail, you could also add 1-2 Lego blocks as well.

  • Party Favors

In each loot bag, guests were given a Lego juice box, mini candy bars wrapped in Lego candy wrappers, and a Lego activity booklet. I wrapped a Hi-C juice box with construction paper, and added round cut outs in the same color, to the front of the juice box. I adhered them with two-sided foam tape to give the juice more dimension. I wrapped mini candy bars with Lego wrappers as well, and adhered them with dot glue. Lastly, I printed these adorable Lego activity booklets on card stock, hole punched them, and added ribbon to secure them together. Inside the Lego activity booklet, guests are able to complete a Lego word search, design their own Lego character, complete a Lego maze, and Lego addition practice. The Lego activity booklet is also in my Lego party download.

  • Activities / Games

I Spy: This game is played just like Where Is Waldo. Print and cut out all of the yellow Lego characters you want guests to find. At the beginning of the party, show guests what the Lego character looks like, and announce there will be a prize for the person with the most characters at the end of the party. Feel free to hide them in both obvious and not-so-obvious places around your home, like in the refrigerator, or even in between towels in the bathroom. Guests will find it amusing to find these characters randomly throughout the day. This is a great game, because it is on going throughout the party, just remember how many you hid throughout your house! Guess How Many Legos: This game is super simple, and can be played throughout the party. Guests can look at a clear container, I used a simple mason jar from the dollar store, and try to guess how many Legos it took to fill up the container. Have each guest place their guess on a card with their name on it, and place in a box. I used an old Lego container. Once everyone has made their guess, pass back out each card, and have the children count the Legos. The guest who was the closest gets to keep all the Legos and the container! Lego Ring Toss: This game is easy to assemble and to play. Purchase a red, green, yellow and blue poster board and some bean bags. Cut four inch strips of each. Staple the rings together so they fit inside one another. Adhere the point value of each ring; the center ring should be the highest value. To play, you can have one of these two objectives: Winner is the guest’s whos bean bag is closest to the center Winner is the guest that earns 1,000 points first Lego Magic: This game is a modified version of the traditional magic game, where you place an object under a cup, rearrange the cups quickly in front of guests, and have them try and guess which cup the object is under. This game is played in the same manner, but I just placed a Lego tower under the cup. Everyone really enjoyed it, and I already had all the materials for the game at home!
