Party Recap

As the guests arrived they signed in and were given a handmade corsage that they could later take home with them as a favor. We had a light fare of finger foods and cupcakes for desert. Then we played the “How well does the bride know the groom” game and let all the guests guess how many questions Olivia would answer correctly. The winner took home a small flower arrangement. Olivia had no idea that we were going to ask her questions so it was a lot of fun for all of us. I especially enjoyed asking her fiance the questions before the shower. But, I believe the best part of the shower was having the guests give Olivia advice or in our case “Ingredients for a Happy Marriage”. All the messages were so special and I know Olivia will look back at them for years to come.

I co-hosted this beautiful bridal shower for my sister Olivia who is getting married in late August. All the decorations, flowers, and food were done by my co-hostess, Kristian, and me.

-The pictures were taken by Molly Kate Photography (me). If you would like to see more pictures of the bridal shower please go to www.molly-kate.com

-The ribbon and heart paper template was personally edited from a free template at The Wedding Chicks.com.

-We made the pipe cleaner flower corsages after watching a How-To Video from the Martha Stewart Show.

-The mints were made from a recipe that has been passed down a couple of generations in my family.

Katie, buy a hard baguette and make alternating straight and diagonal cuts. The straight side will be the bottom and the diagonal side will be the top. Then cut out the inside of each piece (from the top) with a knife but make sure you leave some bread at the bottom so your veggies don't fall through. Place your veggies against one side and add a dollop of your favorite veggie dip in front of them. It's so simple and everyone loved them!
