Selected as Party of the Day on October 19th!
A Magical Cornish Fairy Affair
ByParty Recap
My daughter requested a fairy-themed 7th birthday, and I was delighted to oblige! To give the party a twist on all the other fairy parties out there, we decided to use a Cornish Fairies theme. That brought in a recent trip to Cornwall, our family heritage, and gave us a folklore framework from which to draw inspiration. I did it all myself, and am going to be posting tons of how-tos on my company's blog (link in my profile) if you're interested.
Party Highlights
-
Best Dressed
Has to go to my birthday-girl, the rainbow fairy, though I have to say that my costume was pretty spectacular, too. I'm the photographer, though, so there are no photos of me. ;-)
-
First To Arrive
Faithful friend Jill and her daughter Kaitlyn who came over to help with last minute setup.
-
Best Moment
Once structured activities were done, the kids decided to reenact the story I'd written for the invitation. They played "Ainsley's Very Unusual Day" until 10:30 at night!

It was for my daughter, so it was a labor of love only! If I remember correctly, when I added up all my receipts, the grand total was about $580. Oops! Busted that budget. But still, I'm pretty proud of what I was able to do with that amount.
