My mother always seemed invincible to me... until she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer late last year and overnight she transformed into something heartbreakingly fragile. We often don't realise how much we take our loved one's for granted until there is a chance they might not be with us. Thankfully she has come out strong on the other side, but unfortunately that is not the case for everyone. This week marks both World Ovarian Cancer Day and Mother's Day - two events that are especially poignant to me this year as I think about how close I was to losing my Mum. I wanted to celebrate her health with a small dessert table - something pretty, soft and feminine, in the fresh air to mark the fresh start she's been given. I included all the sweets my Mum loves - Buttercream cakes and cupcakes, a Naked cake with berries, Salted Caramel Fudge, Macarons and personalised chocolates. It was the perfect assortment of sweets to spoil the most amazing woman I know.
