Alice’s Cutie Pie First Birthday

Alice’s 4 year old brother came up with the idea of a Cutie Pie theme and we ran with it. I stuck with red and white gingham for the theme colors and bought bandannas and ribbon in that pattern from Hobby Lobby and I borrowed a huge tablecloth from a friend to use as a backdrop for family photos. Most of the decorations were created using my Silhouette Cameo machine and paper/stickers/twine from Hobby Lobby. I used extra birthday invitation as decoration as well. I used a roll of kraft paper on the tables and laid the handkerchiefs over them before setting them with roses and hudrangeas in mason jars. I decorated the entry table with printable paper pies I found on The House That Lars Built blog. The oversized number one was a leftover from her big sister’s first birthday and it was made from cardboard and coffee filters. I purchased the roses from Costco as well as the humongous chicken pot pies and applie pie. I made mini Nutella pies and Key Lime pies in tart shells and also made pumpkin pie push pops in push pop containers purchased on amazon. My mom made a lemon meringue pie and my mother in law and Grandma made salads and fruit as sides to the pot pie. I served Uncrustables for the kids and made them look like mini pies by resting them in wide mouth mason jar lids and decorated with edible marker. I made strawberry pie pops as favors and set them in a stand from Hobby Lobby. Lastly I made aprons for Alice and her four siblings using iron on materials that I cut out with my Cameo machine. Alice also had a chef’s hat, as did her Daddy and all the ladies attending wore aprons to join in the fun:). It was a beautiful day with family and friends to celebrate her first year of life:)
