I had the pleasure of throwing a All American Baseball themed party for my son Gino's 8th Birthday. My son is a baseball FANATIC... I always give my children the opportunity to pick the theme for their upcoming birthdays. This year, there was no need to ask my son, I already knew! We went all out with the baseball theme. Although my son's favorite team is the San Francisco Giants, I did not want to use the colors of Orange and Black. I was set on using All-American colors of red, white, and blue! I wanted the party to have an All-American feel. I designed all of party paper décor and decorations around these colors. I served anything and everything you could eat and drink at the ball park. Instead of paper plates, guests filled up their ballpark style food baskets (that were lined with red checkered tissue). In order to incorporated my son's love for the SF Giants, I gave all of the food, drinks and treats "Giants" inspired names. This turned into a fun family project to come up with creative and catchy names for everything. When the guests arrived, they were tickled to read all of the names. All the games and entertainment at the party were sports inspired. Guests played, baseball bean bag toss, free-throw basketball, whiffle ball, and swam. Throughout the party, there was a station set up for guests to "Autograph" a keepsake baseball for my son. The guests had fun autographing the ball. As a "thank you" favor, I found baseball cups and filled them with ballpark goodies (licorice, sunflower seeds, peanuts, and baseball bubblegum).
At the end of the day, my son said, "This was the best party ever!" Of course, like all Mom's that made it all worth it.
