My oldest daughter loves Kit Kittredge, and looks like her too. For her 9th birthday, we went back in time for an old fashioned birthday.
I designed her invites like the movie.
Guests dressed up in my grandmother's hats and gloves. We made strawberry freezer jam and learned how to sew Kit's purses. They received a journal to document their adventure. We played barbershop quartet vinyl records, typed letters on an old typewriter, and played American Girl Bingo.
The girls also listened to my grandmother as she told stories from her childhood as what it was like growing up in the Depression.
They also went on a scavenger hunt and had to find all the antiques in the house for their next clue.
