An Alice In Wonderland Baby Shower
ByParty Recap
Everyone had a wonderful time at the Alice in Wonderland – themed Baby Shower I hosted for my niece. I incorporated lots of fun and bright colors throughout the party. To cover large pictures on the walls, and add fun and color to the decor, I created crepe paper backdrops. No one even knew there were large pictures behind the party backdrops! Guests were welcomed to the Shower by the White Rabbit and all of his pocket watches and clocks. Tiered plates offered up favors of small bottles of candies with tags which read “take me”. The party was full of color with lots of paper lanterns and a wide variety of colorful fabrics. Silver chargers were painted in pastel colors and then had circles of Alice – themed papers Modpodged onto them. Teapots of colorful flowers were displayed on raised cake plates, while the table was scattered with pages from an Alice in Wonderland book, keys, ceramic mushrooms and tiny glass bottles. The Dormouse from Alice in Wonderland popped out of a floral teapot to make an appearance at the shower. A quote from Alice in Wonderland appeared on this cleverly painted framed bulletin board which suggest the Cheshire Cat was nearby. “Jabberwocky Juice” (watermelon soup) was offered as an appetizer. Individual casseroles of “Mad Hatter’s Bow ties and Cheese were served along with a salad of baby greens, strawberries, mandarin oranges and an assortment of tea sandwiches. Individual beverage bottles adorned with washi tape, colorful paper straws and “Drink Me” tags, begged guests to fill them up. Fun and colorful hats were on display throughout the party space. The Cheshire Cat sat nearby the cupcakes which were served in pretty china tea cups. Pink Lemonade cupcakes were decorated in pastel colors. An assortment of cookies were decorated with “drink me” and “eat me” to incorporate the Alice in Wonderland theme. Cookies were displayed on a table with colorful hats, a painted mushroom, Alice in Wonderland quotes printed and placed in brightly painted frames, along with a hedgehog hoping the Queen of Hearts doesn't pick him for a game of croquet. I had a delightful time throwing this Baby Shower.
