Party Recap

I've never been to a first birthday party but I think it was a success! The kids were able to bounce in the bounce house and run around outside because the Michigan weather decided to be nice that day. Grandpa barbecued his famous burnt end chicken which made the whole party smell delicious! The adults sipped on Mom and Dad juice (AKA a fabulous blue cocktail!) My little one year old got to eat cake for the first time and be surrounded by so much love and that's all I could ask for his first birthday!

My little guy loves his favorite book more than anything so choosing the theme was the easy part! My family and I are pretty crafty so I love that I could look around and see all the little details that everyone came together to make a reality! Both Grandma's sewed the country quilt table cloth and it turned out better than I had ever envisioned! Grandpa and I made a little blue truck photo prop out of cardboard! The hubby and I made these beautiful pie and cake stands out of wood from a local fallen tree!

It was definitely a labor of love but seeing my little boy's face light up the day of his party was worth every second!
