Party Recap

Ava’s favorite show is “Ever After High,” so when she turned 7, her mother asked us to give her a fairy tale of a party. Using the dolls as inspiration, we went with a pink, aqua and purple color scheme, with pops of a black & white patterns for a playful feel and gold to add a “royal” quality. The “Ever After High” heart logo was an influence in the signage.

Frills and flowers factor in prominently in the female character’s wardrobe, so the overall vibe was super girly. For the dessert table, we used a rosette pink satin overlay and short aqua rosette runners. Instead of magic mirrors, Ava got to see her name reflected back at her! MDF frames (on sale!) from the local crafts store were painted gold, then filled in with fleur de lis fabric covered cardboard and cut-out letters. Manzanita branches were also painted gold and we wired coordinating colored silk flowers throughout. They were planted in black urns that looked a little like top hats as a nod to Madeline Hatter’s family tree. Fake apples got a glam makeover as to reflect Raven Queen’s back story. Cupcakes were topped with handmade paper flowers and the cute cake made a great perch for the Raven Queen doll. Cheshire Kitty and C.A. Cupid dolls watched also over the table.

On the kids table, we used purple satin overlays with black & white and pink rosette layered runners. Roses in aluminum pots from Trader Joe’s made for cost-effective and charming centerpieces. How adorable are the kids chiavari chairs???

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

The buffet was a royal feast! Kale and Goddess Salads, Angus Sliders, Sweet Potato Fries, Mac & Cheese Bites, Mini Veggie Lasagnas and plenty of fruit & crudité kept guests big & small sated.

  • What People Drank

Adults could chill with a cold beer or wine, while plenty of non-alcoholic beverages like water, juice, and lemonade kept the kids hydrated.

  • Desserts

Vegan cake and cupcakes satisfied anyone with a sweet tooth... and they're practically good for you!

  • Party Favors

For the favors, kids took home notebooks that could turn from silver sequin into a rainbow. Pretty sure most prefer playing with the cover than writing in them! A fleur de lis patterned favor tag thanks guests for bringing Ava’s fairy tale to life. She herself came up with the verbiage for the sign, “Choose Your Own Destiny In Your Heart.”

  • Activities / Games

Guests were invited to create bracelets based on a handful of characters. We provided samples to get their creative juices flowing. Face painting and a magic show also kept the kids entertained.
