Party Recap

Once my husband and I settled on a date we knew we wanted an outdoor wedding. Something relaxed and slightly boheme seemed our style. My aunts home seemed perfect for that. We did almost everything ourselves with the help of my family and we had a wonderful time!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

Catering was done by Anthony's Catering in Hopewell Junction, NY. Italian food, because who doesn't like Italian?

  • What People Drank

Because we were at my aunts house I didn't have an open bar. Instead we had white and red wine and beer.

  • Desserts

The cake was made by a local bakery in the area. It was a "naked" cake which simply meant very little frosting. Not everyone was pleased with that but I thought it looked beautiful.

  • Party Favors

We boxed up measuring tapes I had found months in advance for a very inexpensive price. We put them in little gold boxes to go with the them of gold, blush, and mint green for the wedding. We also had Maracas on the tables for the guests to shake when they wanted to see a kiss. And fans because it was so hot. The kids each got a bucket with play doh, bubbles, crayons, goldfish crackers, and a glow stick. I knew what it was like to have small children get board so I tried to keep them entertained. The guests also got a mini bucket of mints with a sign reading "mint to be" and water bottles with out names and date of the wedding printed on the label.
