Party Recap

"She is the perfect combination of princess and warrior." — unknown
As the Iz's 4th birthday approached I knew we needed a theme as special as the birthday girl. A pint-sized little pistol our Iz is as smart & brave as she is beautiful. She watches old superhero sitcoms on youtube with her dad (always wants to get the bad guys and ’save the babies') and her favorite thing to do is dress up so the dream for a superhero party was the natural choice. The hardest part was deciding if she wanted to be batgirl, wonder woman or spider girl so we incorporated all three and their male counterparts so both boys and girls could enjoy. Finding ‘girl’ superhero stuff was not easy and we don’t know why as little girls are strong and brave too. The kids decorated their superhero capes as they arrived and loved having conferences inside the “JAIL” and “Telephone booth.” The girls and boys alike loved the superhero training games led by wonder woman who had them doing pushups, jumping jacks, popping bubble wrap, tying up villains, limbo walking and hoola hooping it. Spiderman made a surprise appearance on the roof of the house and both male and female, young and old loved his amazing stunts of jumping off the roof and acrobatics. By the end of the party, the kids had all perfected their superhero poses.

I would also live to know how the jail was made. How did you attach the bars in such a way that they couldn't come off?

Hi. Yes, i used spray paint for everything. much quicker. did it out on my lawn. for the bars my husband used pvc pipes that he bought at home depot. he connected them all with those connected adapters then made some holes in the box to attach it there.

For the bat mobile i bought a *previously loved* Radio Flyer toy off a yard sale group. you can see on the photo what it originally looked like if you want to search for a similar one. to convert it into a bat mobile i took off all the decals, spray painted it black and created new decals for the bat logos.

sorry, i didn't see all the q's until now. thanks for your interest. we had a lot of fun making this stuff. see above for info on making the jail. for the banner i went on ETSY and had someone there design the superhero name. i took the file to Staples and had them print it in poster size.

Hi, for the cupcake tower i used boxes and styrofoam. covered them in fabric and used different materials (fabric, foam, paper, flower, etc) to create the accessories that represented the superheroes.
