Party Recap...
This party was designed for a set of active twin boys who turned 5. They are lucky enough to have a pastoral backyard that looks and feel like a throwback to simpler times. Both the yard, and the fact that it was a birthday for two, led us towards a baseball theme. Before the party a baseball diamond was cut into the grass. Balloons in red, white and blue were placed at the bases to add a festive feel to the game. A large scoreboard was created by using chalkboard paint and this made the game feel official to the children.
Upon arrival the little guests were split up into two teams team "Tripp" and team "Cooper". They were given hats in either blue or red, depending upon their team, and had their player photo taken. We then played an adorable t-ball game run by dad. The players loved running through the sprinkler on their way to second base to help them cool off given the heat of the day.
After the game bagels and cupcakes were enjoyed in the newly re-done barn on the property. When the food was finished and a few backyard games (including baseball bat limbo) were played we brought out a pinata filled with gold coins. Once the children gathered the coins they were able to bring them up to the "concession" stand to buy candy which, along with the hats, became their favors.
