Party Recap

For my daughter's 10th birthday, we hosted a sophisticated spa themed party. Mackenzie and her guests enjoyed an afternoon of relaxation at the "Bee Natural Spa!"
When the guests first arrived, they were escorted to the lounge area to await their day of pampering. The girls were able to choose a frozen smoothie from our smoothie bar and were encouraged to relax with aromatherapy neck wraps and Japanese sand gardens while they waited for the afternoon activities to begin. Tranquil music was playing in the background to help set the mood!
Once all of the guests arrived, we informed them of all of the treatments planned and talked about the importance of taking time to relax and rejuvenate their mind and body. I wanted to create the atmosphere of a real spa so I had a locker room set-up to start their sessions. Each of the girls had their own locker with name tag to store their items. The girls were given white terry cloth robes, headbands, and flip flops.
Once everyone was in their robes, the girls proceeded to go to the "treatment room." There were low teak tables set up with benches covered in custom terry cloth slipcovers for the girls. At each place setting they had a tray of spa goodies, mirror and spa towel and pillow. The first activity of the day was a chocolate facial! The girls applied and then relaxed on their spa mat/pillow while donning cucumber slices on their eyes. I think there were more giggles then relaxing over the cucumbers but the girls loved it! The guests were then given warm towels to remove their face mask.
After the face mask was removed, we proceeded to apply a sugar scrub to exfoliate their hands and prepare them for the next set of activities. We had several stations set up so that all of the girls were moving from activity to activity. We had a paraffin hand wax station, make your owl lotion and bath salts, manicures and even a chair massage. I was honestly amazed at how much the girls LOVED the massage! I was on the fence about having it since the girls were 9-10 years old but it was the hit of the party!
After all of the treatments were complete, the girls relaxed at the spa themed table to enjoy fresh fruit, tea sandwiches and mini-muffins before singing Happy Birthday! The cupcakes were topped with fondant spa faces to coordinate with the invitation. So cute!
The girls were sent home with a bag of spa goodies to enjoy at home! We received many thank-you notes from the guests on how much they enjoyed their day at the spa! It was a great day for my daughter and her friends!!
