Party Recap
My husband and I celebrated both our 40th birthdays this past weekend. The theme was Black and White. We had caterers who greeted the guests with a Mauritian Punch, a rum and aniseed sorbet. We had a cocktail party and a "Buffet Campagnard" and pizzas at 11.30 at night.
The desserts were served in verrines and featured the colours of the party. We had cheesecake with an oreo base; white and dark chocolate mousse and pavlova with blueberry coulis. The movie Breakfast at Tiffany's was screened in black and white on the wall adjacent to the large Audrey Hepburn poster on the dance floor. We also had a candy buffet which the guests loved! We hired a DJ who played music to the early hours of the morning.

What People Ate
25 appetisers per person such as heart of palm, prawns, duck toasted sandwiches, mushrooms with spinach, seafood risotto balls, macaron with foie gras etc. The Buffet Campagnard featured a variety of cold meats, pate, cheese and bread rolls. Pizza was cooked "live". We had brie, walnut and honey pizza as well as ham and pineapple pizza.

Mauritian Punch, sparkling wine, chenin blanc, merlot, gin and tonic, whisky and soft drinks.
