Party Recap

For a sweet little girl’s birthday party, we decided to create a Magical Narwhal, Unicorn of the Sea Party. We have done mermaids, and we’ve done unicorns, both we adored! But how fun to do something that is actually real!

“Be so Awesome, they’ll think you’re a myth!”

We fell head over heels for the darling book “Not Quite Narwhal” and knew this party was a MUST! It’s all things mystical, and yet REAL!

Creating something magical and beautiful for my little miss to be completely swoon-worthy was so much fun! It had to be all things girly, floral and fun to fit my little Blakely Belle!

The absolute FIRST order of business was to reach out to Cookie Decorator Extraordinaire, Georganne Bell of the infamous Lilaloa Cookies! I just have to say, this talented girl and sweet friend of mine used to do Ranger Challenge with all of the ROTC cadets when we were in college (my hubby and hers were cadets then) and she SLAYED!! Then, next thing I know, she is slaying at her business, speaking at conferences and teaching all things cookies! (um, hello!?...BEST JOB EVER!) Her Instagram posts/videos are mesmerizing and oh-so satisfying. Be sure to check her out!

I was over the moon when she excitedly agreed to make the GORGEOUS cookies to match my little Narwhals for the party. She clearly went above and beyond!! I almost cried when they arrived in the mail! I’m still swooning!

Next, we found the perfect venue here in El Paso at the Happy Kids Party Boutique. The owner is just such a doll to work with and bent over backwards to help with literally everything!! It was the most gorgeous setting and lighting and she did all of the floral arrangements to boot!

Each little table setting for the tiny party-go-ers was set with their own set of pearls, a customized party tee-shirt (which comes in the printable party collection!) a floral headband, a glitter dipped water bottle and their own narwhal mask (also in the collection).

Then we had a magical starfish wand for each little girl with floral bouquets adorning everything! The AH-DORABLE Narwhal cake and cupcakes were provided by the lovely and talented Honey Bee Cakes.

I created this printable party collection SO FAST!! Not that it was easy, but I just was so inspired! You can download and print just about everything you need to create this party yourself from my little shop at www.CassiaLeighDesign.com

I designed all of the printable decorations to make decorating for this a cinch! I wanted bright and colorful, while still giving the “under the sea” vibe! Aside from the invitations, which can be downloaded, customized and printed right from home instantly, there are posters and signage galore! 2 different iron-on tee-shirt designs, party favor tags, candy bar wrappers, bottle labels, cupcake toppers and even coloring pages and a “pin the horn on the narwhal” game AAAAND yes, still more! Okay, okay...I kind of went overboard with this one! What can I say? This time it was for my own little miss and I just couldn’t leave ANYTHING out! :)

The details are what always get me, though! So the sea urchins with the air plants and real starfish and seashells everywhere was a super inexpensive, but eye-catching pop!! Then just keeping it real (since Narwhals are in fact REAL!) we had so much fun with the cute cheeky sayings throughout with things like; “Be beautiful, stay weird ” or “Be so awesome, they’ll think you’re a myth!” It was a blast!!

And the last little favor box was just the cherry on top! With the foldable narwhal box we had too much fun! I made some ahead of time for decorating and holding prizes, BUT my cute little party guests were so cute and crafty that I let the older girls fold some themselves too as one of the activities!

All in all, it was so magical, fun and over much too quickly! I can’t wait to get started on my boys upcoming birthday party!
