Party Recap

This party was for my future sister-in-law and the colors were her request! I just did a spin off of the concept that she had. I loved the way the formal table setting ended up with the real china, champagne classes and gold serve ware. It was small and intimate and a perfect event!

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

We had a salad bar along with pasta salad and pinwheels. The guests had 2 types of lettuce to choose from along with an array of salad toppings. In order to keep the salad bar from looking cluttered and sloppy we streamlined our serving dishes so that they were all clear or glass and had a colorful visual once set up. This is my second time doing the salad bar set up for a shower and the guests loved it.

  • What People Drank

    Mimosas of course!

  • Desserts

Cupcakes! The bride actually ordered the cupcakes and toppers herself because nobody gets between a bride and her cake. The cupcakes were red velvet with a cream cheese center and lemon raspberry. Both delicious and many people took seconds!

  • Party Favors

MINT gum of course! The "sweet mint" gum was wrapped up in coordinating paper with a tag that said "Jason & Casey, MINT to be!"

  • Activities / Games

We played several games: 1) Keys to a good marriage: the guests were given tags and each tag they had to write advice for each of the categories. The bride them tied them to the key and chose her favorite from each category (happiness, fiancés, love, family and honesty). 2) What's In Your Phone: the new twist on the class "what's in your purse game" where guests are awarded points for things they have in their phone. 3) Spice it Up: Guests were passed around a variety of spices to name without touching or tasting and finally 4) Would They Rather: Guests had to pick out of two items which the couple agreed on. All games had rave reviews.
