Brett's Fashionable 8th Birthday

Party Details: Pink, black, and white was the color scheme. The party was on a Sunday from 2 to 4 pm. When the girls arrived, Brett had them sketch a party outfit for her to wear, Brett would pick her favorite one. We displayed the sketches on our picture window for everyone to see. The notebooks are from Target and I used peel & stick vinyl for the cover in black or white, then hot glued jewels in the girls initials on the cover. I tied up the colored pencils in coordinating ribbon. The two centerpieces were jewelry mannequins I found at Target (Brett got to keep one and the other was for the winner chosen by Brett of her favorite sketch). The pink and black take home bags were from Oriental Trading and the ribbon and sequined initials were from A.C. Moore. The Thank You tags and "Happy Birthday" banner were from Gwynn Wasson Designs on Etsy, it was from the pink and black Barbie printable set. The girls then did a flip flop ribbon craft. I got the idea from my friend Kelly who said she got it from Pinterest. (We also had a second craft to do but ran out of time. They were gumball necklaces that I found at onecharmingparty.com, you can also find the details on Pinterest. The example is shown on the mannequin). After the craft Brett opened presents and then we sang Happy Birthday. The girls had a mocktail hour complete with yummy cupcakes with pink and black dresses to match from Firefly Cupcakes in East Aurora NY, Kiddie Cocktails, and chocolate chip cookies. Then for the finale the girls got to go shopping in Brett's Boutique and get dressed up for a photo shoot in Brett's Fashionable Photo Booth and I was the photographer. The crepe paper backdrop is from glorioustreats.com. But instead of using twine to attach the crepe paper to the ribbon I used glue dots. This party was a HUGE hit with a group of 7 & 8 year olds!!!
