Party Recap
This was my baby's 1st birthday party. It was a little sad to celebrate our last child's 1 year, and know that we won't have a newborn again.
Party Highlights
-
Best Dressed
My baby of course. She had two themed outfits. One for the party, and one for the smash cake.
-
Desserts
Cake of course!
-
Best Moment
The best moment was watching my baby destroy her smash cake. She was squealing the entire time.

How funny! I may have to try this.

That's not a framed picture, that is her invitation mounted on yellow card stock. :-)

I was wondering how the smash cake was made or did you have it made somewhere? Also where did you get the decals for the wall?
Sarah A wrote:
So sorry I'm just responding, I'm probably too late. I made the smash cake. Just stacked two 6" cakes and trimmed them to apple shape. The wall decals were from Barnes and Noble.

hey there, I'm planning my daughter's 1st birthday and love this idea -- do you have any advice on where i could find the invitation or food tags? i'd love to borrow any digital printables that you may have to help create my own invitation.

I found a woman on etsy who had cute outfits and asked her to make it with that fabric. She did awesome. Made the two older sisters dresses in theme too. Not sure if I have them on here. Here is a link: https://www.etsy.com/people/amacim

Just google it. Here is some I found just now: http://www.fabric.com/quilting-fabric-shop-by-designer-andover-cotton-print-fabrics-the-very-hungry-caterpillar.aspx I used it as a table cloth too. I didn't even cut it, just tucked it around.

What did you give as favors?

Hey, I am doing a variation of this theme for my daughters first birthday in a few weeks. I am using your favor bags as the inispiration for mine... what did you put in your bags? Im struggling finding ideas for the bags for kids ages 18 months - 5 years old. Your favor bags looked so adorable... HELP! thanks Nicole

I had a hard time with the favors, especially at that age. I ended up putting in a book/memory game that I ordered from the Eric Carle museum, and I put in puzzles that I found at Kohl's. The puzzles were hard to find a year ago, so I don't know if you'll find them now. I was at Joanns the other day and saw a lot of Eric Carle stuff. Not sure where you are from, but you could try there. The museum stuff was pricey but I bought the membership and that helped. Good luck!
