Cora's Crayola Rainbow 2nd Birthday
ByParty Recap
A DIY party in the basement of our home. With a Crayola Rainbow theme, the party was really colorful and included some fun Crayola crafts for all the little kids to do. All the littles had a great time (the adults too), and especially the little lady of honor!
Party Highlights
-
Best Moment
Seeing my daughter have such a great time with all of her little friends! She made it the whole day with no nap and was so excited when everyone started arriving!
-
Funniest Moment
When she saw the first gifts arrive she ran over to me and said "Mommy, need scissors!" She couldn't wait to dig in to those gifts!!
-
Most Touching Moment
When everybody sang Happy Birthday to my "little big girl" and she had a huge grin on her face the whole time. Maybe it wasn't a touching moment for the party girl, but this mama definitely teared up!
-
Best Dressed
The little guest of honor of course! She wore a rainbow colored short party dress with a coordinating headband from The Children's Place. She also at time wore a fabulous custom party hat (in rainbow colors of course) from Etsy vendor Shop Lissy. Her patent leather white dress shoes were from Gymboree. The "piece de resistance" was her rainbow sparkle necklace from the Etsy shop Lola and Darla Designs.
-
Desserts
A "healthy" toddler dessert selection with fruit in all colors of the rainbow, lemonade, Jello, and of course a fun Crayola themed cake from Dana's Custom Cakes in Hamilton.
-
Party Favors
A pre-packaged pouch purchased from Etsy vendor Posh Paper Creationsfilled with custom crayons (stars and the number 2 in rainbow colors) and a miniature coloring pad. Each of the favors were tied to a balloon, since the toddlers love them so much!
-
Activities / Games
There were four crafting areas set up. We had a Play-doh table, set up with a variety of colors and tools, a coloring table, with printable Disney Jr. coloring sheets, a foam sticker craft table, and a "Party Hands" craft, where each of the kiddos did a fingerprint handprint on a canvas for my daughter to keep.

Budget
$1000

What People Ate
A buffet of family-friendly Italian style food from Gennaros Catering in Hamilton, NJ, with chicken nuggets and french fries for the kiddos.
-
What People Drank
Juice boxes, soda, and some adult beverages.
-
Backdrop Wall
I decorated the wall behind the food table....it took me a number of days to do it and to get it look perfect. I was really proud of the outcome!
-
Dessert Table Backdrop
I cut the Happy Birthday sign myself using my Cricut. I also made the crayon name myself as well. That took a while to get right!I love it and plan on decorating my daughter's Big Girl room with is.
-
Crayon utensil holders
An idea I found on Pinterest...I also DIYed the crayon utensil holders. They came out so COLORFUL--I will definitely be using them in some way in our arts and crafts area.
