I wanted to do a Father’s Day party and something different. So with thinking about Dad’s, I started thinking of what a lot of men like. Beer, food and fun, right? From here, I came up with a Crab Boil. I thought of a play on the words for a boil and came up with “CrawDAD Cookout”.

Before researching design ideas I immediately thought, Newspaper, Kraft paper, Reds and Navy. I designed a Newspaper print that matched the theme that way it was throughout the entire feel. The photography was by the lovely, Megan Long Photography.

Coming into the party, guest walked through Shepard hooks and hanging from them were rope glass lanterns from Kate Aspen with sand and tea lights inside.

Dining table set up included monogrammed napkins made by Great Stitch and acted as everyone’s place settings. Inside each bucket was a bib, wet wipe, utensils with tiny vinyl crab & lobster decals by Classy Detailed Events, personalized Crab Mallets by J.O. Spices, and personalized Beer Koozies by Vinyl Eloquence. All of these were on each plate that Create UR Plate customized just for this party with our crab image. The table was also adorned with some items like blue vintage votives, white lanterns, melted butter dishes & spices by J.O. Spice.

With a Craw DAD Cookout you have to have crab, right?! So here is a fun way to set up a table scape for your food and drinks. For the drinks, I decorated them with rope and used rugby striped straws from Kate Aspen. Also included on the table was a fun navy stripe Mason jar from Just add glitter by Marla.

Next to the food and drink table, I added a “Cleaning Station”. I created a printable sign, added some wash cloths and lemons and lemon water for easy clean up of our hands.

Kids table was very similar to the adult table, but theirs had some fun elements like a Mini Crab Pinata and Candy wands made by Lisa Frank Parties. I made the tiny boats that held colored candies and gum. Vinyl decals on the drinks and galvanized buckets were by Classy Detailed Events.

Dessert table set up had lots of fun items for all ages. I wanted to stick with a similar theme so the desserts carried that throughout. I used these cute Beer and Corn on the Cob Cake Pops made by Stick a Cake in it.
Bella’s Bakery & Bowtique made the The Chocolate Covered Oreos had my custom newspaper print and a little chocolate crab on them. I also had cupcakes with a tiny chocolate crab added and placed inside striped baking cups from TomKat Studios. The yummy pretzel rods and super cute lobster pretzels were by Sugar & Spiked Inc. Auntie Bea’s Bakery made the Corn on the cob, beer, lemon and crab claw cookies and the kids enjoyed playing with the faux crab claws. I found small gable boxes and knew they would be perfect to hold my S’more kits. The red and white mason jar I used to for the flowers was made by Just add glitter by Marla. I added some texture by layering the table cloths and the adorable banner was by Lisa T Creations. Miscellaneous decor was borrowed by Sweet Jelly Parties. The navy and white stripe table cloth was from Bateson’s Boutique.
