Dapper 40
ByParty Recap
We had the pleasure of styling a 40th birthday celebration for a dear friend of ours. We tried to nail down a theme and bounced around a couple of ideas. We knew that mustache and bowties would be incorporated to match the invitation as well as the blue, brown and red colors. We decided to go with a "Dapper" look right out of the 40s.
Now for the details...
~One of his favorite drinks is Coca Cola so we create a "Soda Shoppe" where you could create your own soda flavor and grab a custom stamped napkin. This was a bigger hit than we expected. It was enjoyed be kids and kids at heart.
~Being a family friend he's enjoyed our Momma salsa on many occasions and we wanted to toss that in somehow. That's where the inspiration for the "Kick in the Stache" Salsa bar came from. Some salsas were mild with a great flavor and some truly did give you a kick in the stache.
~The greeting table had a guest book for all his friends and family to leave notes with blessings and well wishes that he could enjoy for years to come. Also on that table was a custom made Dapper Daily Newspaper, created by our honorary Savvy Sister Lily Arzate. The newspaper included birthday wishes from friends, facts about 1974, instructions on how to tie a bowtie and much more. This was such a special touch! It was also one of my favorite details!
~For favors we created label pins for all our guests to wear and then take home as a token of appreciation for their presence. All the dapper gents and gorgeous dames adorned their pins as they entered into the party where the soundtrack was time period appropriate and set the tone for them to step back in time to the 1940's.

**Most prop pieces were antique/vintage pieces collected over the years by my mom. We were fortune enough to use such precious treasures to make this party amazing.
