Party Recap

For my son's 5th birthday party, we threw a Dinosaur Train Themed birthday party. It was held at our local park for family and friends. I make everything for all of my parties and on a budget! I started by making a Dinosaur Train tshirt with my cricut. I also made a full dinosaur train alphabet banner with my cricut. We hung large cut outs of dinosaurs all over the trees and covered the tables with green tablecloth and plastic dinosaurs and eggs. The kids played with a DIY dinosaur bean bag toss and a dinosaur dig. My kids enjoyed making homemade dinosaur bones and painting them. Food consisted of pizza and a watermelon dinosaur fruit plate. My son doesn't like cake so we made dinosaur dirt cups of chocolate pudding, crumbled oreos, chocolate rocks, and plastic dinosaurs. Finally, the party favors consisted of plastic buckets filled with dinosaur toys - notepads, stretchies, tattoos, chocolate rock M&Ms, small plastic dinos. Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

Pizza, pretzels, and fruit. I cut a dinosaur mouth out of a watermelon and stuffed it with his favorite berries.

  • What People Drank

    Water and juice boxes

  • Desserts

Dinosaur Dirt Cups. Easy to make! Just made a lot of chocolate pudding. Layered pudding, crumbled oreos, pudding, oreos, and then added a few chocolate rocks and a plastic dinosaur to top.

  • Party Favors

Buckets filled with dinosaur toys - notepads, stretchies, tattoos, chalk eggs, M&M eggs, small plastic dinosaurs. I used my Cricut to print and cut Buddy from Dinosaur Train as tags.

  • Activities / Games

Dinosaur Dig - we made homemade dinosaur bones and the kids had fun painting them. Then put them at bottom of plastic bin, dumped sand on top, and kids had fun digging for them.. Dinosaur Bean Bag Toss - I found an old piece of wood from a desk and cut a hole in it. They I found a picture I like and free handed it on the board and painted it. Free and easy!! Bags I made out of spare fabric and stuffed them with whatever I had on hand - beans, rice, oats, etc. Both activities only cost me a few dollars and were super easy and fun for the kids!
